Photovoltaic (PV) power generation is growing quickly in South Asia and Africa, providing an efficient way to provide electricity to remote locations that are not within the utility grid's boundaries. The CA168 is a device designed specifically for PV solar generating mini grids, providing support for currents of 5A, 16A, 40A, and 60A as well as a nominal voltage of 230V and a Class 1 accuracy class to guarantee proper measurements.
Including a built-in RF module, the meter can interface with a monitoring and management system, transmitting data from the meter to a data concentrator via RF. The data concentrator then uploads the gathered data via GPRS, while a repeater can be used to expand the communication range of the data concentrator.

Standard Transfer Specification (STS) Encryption
This technology provides 20 digit encryption within the STS protocol. It is incredibly secure and compliant with IEC62056-21 standards, allowing for easy data interrogation.
Reverse Energy Detection (SRE)
This feature will identify any instances of considerable reverse energy (SRE) within the system.
Power Source
The dual power source enables both prepaid and credit modes. In addition, it will detect and disconnect on overload and open the circuit when there is no credit available.
Load and Credit Management
The load limit is programmable and has the capacity to give a low credit warning to notify the user when their credit is low.
Tamper Detection and Historical Data Recording
Any events of tampering such as cover open, reversal, or black-outs will be identified and recorded. The system can also easily access 12 months of historical consumption data and the last five tokens that were entered.
